Our work

Optimal Defence is actively engaged in the European Defence Agency's (EDA) Capability Technology Areas (CapTechs), and NATO NIAG Studies.

Through these collaborations, Optimal contributes to advancing research and technology in these critical sectors, ensuring the development of innovative solutions that enhance the safety, operational effectiveness, and strategic capabilities of armed forces across Europe. This involvement underscores Optimal's commitment to addressing the evolving security challenges in these specialized defense areas.

European Defence Agency Captechs

The European Defence Agency (EDA) organizes Capability Technology Groups (CapTechs) to address key defense technology challenges through collaboration across government, industry, and academia. These groups identify technology gaps, foster innovation, and develop roadmaps for advancing defense capabilities.

Optimal actively participates in three CapTechs: Naval Systems, Ground Systems, and CBRN and Human Factors.

By contributing its expertise, Optimal plays a vital role in shaping technology strategies, addressing specific challenges, and driving forward key research and development initiatives within these crucial defense areas.

NATO Industrial Advisory Group

Optimal Defence is actively engaged in two NATO NIAG studies:

- NIAG SG 303, focusing on NATO medium and large caliber direct fire munition interoperability

- NIAG SG 288, addressing Counter Rockets, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) technologies.

Optimal Defence is well-positioned within a select group of companies, enabling them to produce a wide range of ammunition calibers. These roles highlight their significant contribution to NATO's defense capabilities.
